I once was on a project alongside Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump’s campaign manager. She and I flew together to some random city for her to conduct a focus group. We were both in our 20s, and we talked about our ambitions. She wanted to start a think tank to focus on issues important to Generation X. She believed our values and uniqueness needed to be understood and given voice, and that if that happened, Gen X could be a political force. She would call this think tank “Vox Futari,” and it would be big. She was certain of it.
The conversation has stuck with me all this time. I was taken by her charisma, and I found her idea utterly compelling. And would ya look at her now.
